Denise Mjelde is our VP of Compliance, who identifies solutions that benefit members and staff and adhere to regulations. Denise’s collaborative approach supports our bankers’ ability to innovate non-traditional solutions.

While Denise has more than 20 years of experience in banking, Denise’s most recent experience was working within a non-profit organization creating efficiencies in support of its mission. This role allowed Denise to experience banking from the consumer’s perspective and amplified the importance of contributing to a positive member experience.

Denise holds a BA in French and English and an MA in French Literature from the University of Nebraska and completed the WBA Deposit Compliance and Lending Compliance schools. Most recently, Denise earned the designation of NAFCU Certified Bank Secrecy Officer (NCBSO) from the National Association of Federally Insured Credit Unions, showing her commitment to protecting SbCU and our members against money laundering.
